Neu Women: Danielle Duboise, Co-Founder Sakara Life

Mother's Day is just around the corner and we are kicking off the celebrations with our Neu Woman of the month - Danielle Duboise.  She’s a new mom, culinary + wellness entrepreneur, author and lover of all things plant-based.  Could you imagine anyone more aligned to our core values than her?

Born and raised in the spiritual mecca of Sedona, Arizona, Danielle moved to NYC to study pre-med, but took a different journey that led to co-founding the organic food  empire, Sakara Life, alongside childhood best friend Whitney Tingle. What began in their Soho kitchen as a 100% plant-based nutrition program to heal the overall feeling of disconnection that the city and the stress from adulthood brought to their lives, rapidly grew into a delivery of ready-to-eat, clean organic meal service.  What started as a delivery service by bikes (we remember - we were one of their first customers!) is now strongly established with 85 employees and thousands of customers across the US.

We caught up with Danielle in the midst of her book tour - Sakara Life - "Eat Clean, Play Dirty" - at  their new Soho HQ. The bright, monochromatic white space is accented by beautiful images of colorful fruits and vegetables and the beautifully packaged treats stocked in the company's kitchen were enough to seduce anyone to get on board with the Sakara lifestyle. Imagine the perfect combination of purity, health, beauty, balance and glamour, all together in one place.

And Danielle was no exception. She emerged from the conference room with a radiant smile, looking fabulous and confident in her signature white head-to-toe Neu Nomads look topped off with a statement bordeaux lipstick and matching velvet boots. Which reconfirms our shared beliefs that health and well-being are dependent on holistic factors: nutrition, relationships, career and love for the self.

During the photoshoot, we chatted with Danielle about the concept of self love, balance and the "Neu" simple decisions and actions that help her feel more connected to herself day by day.

Find out how Danielle is doing it.

  • Neu mantra: Every decision is an opportunity to bring more light into the world.

  • Neu sustainable habit: Eating Sakara Life and an overall diet that is plant-rich.

  • Neu self-care/healthy practice: Vintner’s Daughter morning and night.

  • Neu female voice: Sophia Roe & Pia Baroncini

  • Neu inspiring book or news article: Anything by Mariam Williamson including her books.

  • Neu song obsession: Paul Simon is my jam right now. So happy and such brilliant lyrics.

  • Neu go-to veg restaurant: ABCV

  • Neu spot to reconnect with yourself and nature: Sedona

  • Neu decompress routine: Sundays with my family where we take a long walk through different neighborhoods in the city with a coffee and croissants in hand. I strap my 9 month old into my favorite Artipoppe carrier and my husband leashes up our pup (a mini aussie) and we stroll! It's the best and reminds me why I live in this big beautiful city.

  • Neu favorite weekend retreat: Sacred Sundays that are strictly for family time. No phones and no outside events.

  • Neu ideal travel destination: I loved being pregnant but I also love wine and so I'm planning a few trips.

  • Neu everyday look: Hippie chic meets Grace Kelly!

  • Neu Nomads favorite style: White is our color!  Essential Shirt Dress shirt and flowy Wide Leg Palazzo Pants
